Torrens to Darlington (South Road Upgrade) Project

Even prior to my election in 2022, I have been consistently advocating to the Department for Infrastructure and Transport to ensure that the Torrens to Darlington (South Road upgrade) Project also benefits our local community - reducing rat running and congestion on our local roads.

One such project is the Raglan Avenue, Edward Street and South Road Network Upgrade. Back in 2021, I wrote to the then Minister for Infrastructure and Transport on behalf of our community, requesting the installation of a green right hand turn arrow from Edward Street onto South Road - unfortunately I never received a response.

However, following the State Election, I continued to raise our community’s concerns with this intersection with the Department and my State Government colleagues.

I was incredibly proud to stand alongside local resident Katie, the Premier and the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport to announce this project in 2024.

Raglan Avenue, Edward Street and South Road Network Upgrade

The Raglan Avenue, Edward Street and South Road Network Upgrade will see the construction of a new link road, removing the ‘dogleg’ movement for traffic travelling between Edward Street and Raglan Avenue

Price Street residents will be pleased to know that while upgrades will take place at the intersection of South Road to allow right hand turn access into Castle Plaza Shopping Centre - Price Street will remain left turn in and left turn out only.

Construction is expected to start on this project very soon!
