Multicultural infrastructure grants to support diversity and strengthen communities

South Australian multicultural groups can now apply for funding to assist with the purchase of equipment or to upgrade, extend or build community facilities.

The Expand Together infrastructure program is one of three core funding streams for multicultural communities in South Australia.

Organisations can apply for up to $100,000 for equipment or infrastructure, with co-contribution for applications above $50,000. Projects are to be delivered over 12 months.

The infrastructure grants assist organisations to grow their capacity and meet the needs of South Australia’s culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

The four categories of the Expand Together program are:

  • Equipment Grant up to $50,000

  • Infrastructure Grant up to $50,000

  • Equipment Grant between $50,001 - $100,000

  • Infrastructure Grant between $50,001 - $100,000

The previous round included funding for a new roof at the Altavilla Irpina Sports and Social Club, equipment upgrades for Multicultural Youth SA and stage and audio equipment for the Association of Ukrainians in South Australia

Applications are open now and close on 31 July 2026.

Multicultural organisations are strongly encouraged to consider applying. The online application form and Funding Guidelines are available now at www.multicultural.sa.gov.au

Quotes attributable to Nadia Clancy

Multicultural groups throughout South Australia are a real focal point for communities and the Malinauskas Government recognises the important role they play in supporting people to come together and celebrate their language, traditions and culture.

It’s important the halls and other venues that host these groups are properly resourced and in good working order, and this grant program is aimed at doing just that.

I encourage groups to work out what they need and apply for funding before the 31 July deadline.
