New Shared Use Bridge for St Bernadette’s School
I’m so happy to share the new pedestrian bridge for St Bernadette’s School is now open - just in time for the start of Term 4!
This new bridge connecting Clovelly Park and St Marys is another example of the River Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project strengthening east west connectivity for our community and encouraging active modes of transport.
We appreciate the St Bernadette’s community for their patience and making the most of the shuttle bus service while we’ve waited for this bridge to be completed for use.
I encourage even more families to consider walking to school, local parks, public transport stops and small businesses nearby.
The bridge is the first of five new shared use bridges being delivered as part of the $15.4 billion T2D Project, with the Albanese and Malinauskas Labor Governments each committing $7.7 billion. The other bridges will connect Richmond to James Congdon Drive, Kurralta Park to Ashford, Marleston to Keswick, and Glandore to Black Forest.
When T2D is complete, more than 22 kilometres of new and upgraded paths will connect communities, schools and local destinations right across our southern suburbs.
