Keeping our Community Safe, Beautiful and Connected
The Malinauskas Labor Government is committed to building safer communities. Since coming to government we been growing our police force, investing in our courts and prisons, and delivering on a strong legislative agenda - including introducing the toughest knife laws and child sex offender laws in the nation, cracking down on perpetrators of domestic, family and sexual violence, stalking, harassment, and criminalising coercive control and stealthing.
Closer to home I have been focusing on delivering projects for our community that bring people together and keep our community safe, beautiful and connected!
In February 2024 with the support of the City of Mitcham, the AA Bailey Reserve carpark was upgraded and new stormwater drainage installed.
Home to Cumberland United Football Club, this previously unsealed carpark was often unsafe, forcing attendees of games and training sessions to park in the narrow already congested local streets.
This $300,000 investment committed to during the 2022 State Election allowed more families to enjoy the club without parking in surround streets.
In December 2025, we installed new air conditioning at the Springbank Sports Centre.
Home to the Springbank Secondary School and the Sturt Sabres Basketball Club, the centre was often unusable for students and teachers, and Sabres games would need to be moved or cancelled in the heat.
This project was a promise I made during the 2022 State Election - and the installation of solar panels will be completed soon!
